Module 7E-02 Peer Pressure
In other words, peer pressure is when we feel we have to be like the other people in our social setting, and we give up what comes naturally to us in order to fit in. A person may face more than one type of such pressure, because as human beings we belong to many different social settings:
Each group has a different set of peers, and we are expected to fit into each group smoothly. Following the norms of a social setting is not a bad thing; in fact, we do it all the time.
